What is ResNet?
You can think of ResNet as your residence hall Internet Service Provider (ISP). Just like your ISP at home, ResNet provides your Internet service while you are living on campus. This reliable, secure, high speed Internet service is free to all residence hall students!
We support Internet access directly to your room for accessing campus resources, web browsing, chatting with friends, gaming, email, and all the services you are accustomed to at home. We also maintain a computer lab in each residence hall which is open around the clock to Housing residents.
To keep your personal computer secure and virus free, we provide you with anti-virus software at no charge; and we have implemented Cisco’s Clean Access network security solution to help protect your computer files and personal information from hackers, and to keep the campus network running at optimal speed. ResNet HelpDesk technicians are available throughout the year to assist students living in our residence halls with connecting to the network and in keeping their computers virus free.
Location
We are located in the Southern Courtyard Clubhouse on Knight Drive. If you need tech help, the best way to reach us is by submitting a trouble ticket to our Call Center: www.gsuhousing.com/help. However, you may also speak with a technician by calling 912-478-7971, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, or e-mail ResNet.

Although you might not agree that this practice should be illegal, there is no denying that it is! Trade organizations such as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) are aggressively opposing free file-sharing. The RIAA is filing suits against college and university students who have copyrighted materials available for file-sharing on their computers. Read more...
File sharing programs such as Limewire and Bit Torrent are automatically set to upload and share files by default when ever you download anything. You must specifically configure them to not upload or share. Click here for instructions on how to disable illegal file sharing on your computer.

Network Services currently supports the Cisco Clean Access network security system in all residence halls. The main features of this system include user authentication, vulnerability assessment and remediation. In other words, the system requires students to log in and checks the PC for computer viruses and other vulnerabilities before granting full network access. It helps users do their part in establishing a safer internet. For more information about this system and how it might affect you, click here.
