What is a Hall Council and who can be involved?
Each residence hall on campus will elect a Hall Council. The council is made up of a core group of elected officers. Members of the Hall Council are residents of the hall in which the Hall Council is established. Each council will minimally have the following:
- President
- Vice President
- Treasurer/Secretary
- Floor/Wing Reps (varies per building)
Hall Councils meet once a week at a time that the council as a whole will agree on. The councils are established to make decisions and to plan events that will promote better residence hall living. Possible events that a Hall Council will plan and participate in include:
- Clothing drives
- Canned food drives
- Development of hall philanthropy
- Hall Socials
- Hall Birthday Bashes
- Sponsoring Homecoming candidates
- Building Homecoming floats
- Sponsoring hall intramural teams
- Tailgate Parties
- Family Weekend Breakfasts and Cookouts
