Break Housing is available to students who wish to stay on-campus during the break between Summer and Fall terms only for those students who are currently living on campus and also have an active Fall/Spring housing assignment. Students living on campus for summer but not for Fall/Spring are not eligible for break housing. Break Housing provides space for students from July 24 – August 14th. Please read the options below to determine your fees for break housing based upon your situation. Note: there is no partial break sign up, students are charged for the entire break period regardless of how much of the break that they stay.

Regardless of what option below you are choosing, you MUST complete the online sign up form to stay for break or store your belongings in your room!

If you are living in University Villas or Southern Pines now, and

• You are staying in the same room for Fall term:
  
  • You can leave your belongings in room and check out on July 24 and return August 14th. (See info on "Storage" below)
    
    • Cost - $50
  • You can stay in your room for break (July 24 - August 14)
    
    • Cost - $400
• You are moving to a different room in University Villas/Southern Pines
  
  • You can remove all your belongings on July 24th and return on August 14th
    
    • Cost - $0.00
  • You can stay in your summer room till July 28th, and then move to your fall space between 9am and Noon on July 28th. You must be completely moved out of your Summer space by 2pm. A late fee of $75 per hour will be assessed to students who have not checked out by 2pm
    
    • Cost - $400
• You are moving to a different room in any hall other than University Villas
  
  • You must move to Watson Commons on July 24. You will move to your fall assignment on Monday, August 3rd between 9am-Noon. You must be completely moved out of your Summer space by 2pm. A late fee of $75 per hour will be assessed to students who have not checked out by 2pm.
    
    • Cost - $300

In order to secure Break Housing, you must be able to move at the times indicated for your situation. Failure to do so will result in additional financial charges and possible judicial sanctions.

Students must sign up for Break housing by July 21st at 5pm. Students who sign up after July 21st will be charged a $75 late fee in addition to their break housing fees.

STORAGE

Students who will be staying in the same space for fall/spring terms as they are currently occupying and wish to leave their belongings in their room, may do so for a storage fee of $50, but they must follow the following rules:

1. All personal belongings must be in the bedroom. No personal items should be left in the bathroom, bathroom cabinets, kitchen, or living room. Items left in the refrigerator/freezer will be removed during cleaning and may defrost or warm up. It is strongly advised that you remove all perishable items from your refrigerator/freezer before leaving.
2. You will still need to check out with your RA. If you do not turn in your room keys, you will be considered a break stayover and charged the $400 fee!
3. Please check with your hall staff to make sure you follow all checkout procedures. DO NOT JUST LEAVE!!!

No other storage is available for students.
